PURPOSE
The
purpose of the Knoxville College National
Alumni Association (KCNAA) is to:
- Aid
and support financially the programs and
operations of Knoxville College;
- Preserve,
through love and reverence, our beloved
Alma Mater, Knoxville College, and to
preserve its principles, ideals, legacy
and history;
- Foster
a friendly spirit and strengthen the mutual
appreciation and respect for Knoxville
College graduates and students, and other
persons interested in the welfare of the
College, generally; and
- Continue
the College’s educational mission
and purpose of providing higher education
for African Americans in the United States.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How
can I become a member of the Association?
Membership in the Association is restricted
to graduates of Knoxville College and
Morristown College, and former students
who were enrolled for at least one semester.
Former students enrolled for at least
one semester, spouses and others committed
to the purposes stated above, and who
pay the required fees may also be admitted
into the Association as an associate member.
Members
and associate members may become active
(financial) by paying an annual fee of
$50.00 to the Association.

What are the benefits of active
membership?
Those
members who are currently active:
- have
the knowledge that they are supporting
the preservation of the Knoxville College
tradition;

enjoy the rights and privileges of voting;
-
are eligible to hold an office in the
Association; and
-
receive the KCean Newsletter and other
special mailings.
Associate
members have the same benefits except
for voting and holding office in the Association.
Is
there a Life Membership provision?
An Association member or associate member
may purchase a Life Membership at a cost
of $500, which must be paid in full or
in installments over a one-year period
as long as an initial payment of $167
is made. Send a copy of the Life

How
do I update my address for alumni mailings?
The most convenient and time-saving way
is to send your information, i.e., name
(including maiden, where appropriate),
class year, address, telephone number(s),
and email address to the Alumni Information

Homecoming
The
date of Homecoming may vary slightly from
year to year. Homecoming is still the
most traditional alumni activity held
on Knoxville College’s campus. The
large variety of activities include the
Alumni Awards and Honors Luncheon, Athletic
Hall of Fame, Festival on the Lawn, Alumni
Mixer, girls’ and boys’ basketball
games, Homecoming Gala, class reunions,
fraternity/sorority reunions, and many

When
does the National Alumni Association hold
its meetings?
The National Alumni Association’s
Annual Meeting is held during the Homecoming
gathering. The meeting is open to all
alumni; however, only those members who
are financial for the calendar year in
which the meeting is held and life members
may vote.
